This week, our tip goes to those who have just registered on the app (as we teach here) and want to know how to place an order on iFood. The CX (Customer Experience) team teaches you how to order food on the app — follow it step by step.

How to place an order on iFood

Choose a restaurant

At the top of the screen, click on “Restaurants” (where iFood shows establishments in your region that deliver to your home).

On this screen, you will see a list of restaurants and details such as:

  • The average rating for each one (next to the little yellow star, with 5 being the maximum rating), as whoever makes the order has the option to evaluate the delivery;
  • The type of food (next to the note, just below the name of the restaurant), such as snacks, pizza or bakery, for example;
  • The distance from the restaurant to your location;
  • Delivery time and fee;
  • In green, it also appears if the restaurant is offering any coupons or promotions at that moment.

With this information, choose where you will place the order. Want a tip? You can select a super restaurant to have the best experience with delivery — the super is the one with a little red star right after the name of the establishment.

Make your wish

After clicking on the restaurant, you will find the available options on the menu. Choose what you want and click the “Add” button at the bottom of the screen.


Check your bag


When you finish your order, you will be directed to the “Bag” page, which shows what you have chosen. 

Check that everything is ok: to remove an item, click on the trash icon that appears on the button to the right of the order; To add another unit, click on the “+” sign in that same space.


Everything OK with the order? Then click the “Continue” button at the bottom of the screen.


Check the address and type of delivery


See if the address that appears on the screen is the same as where you are. If you want to change, select “Swap”. Below, select a delivery method (such as “standard” or “fast”) and click the “Continue” button.


Make payment

On the next screen, you can choose the payment method, whether you want your CPF number on the note and, if you pay by card, you can give the delivery person a tip. All ready? Click the “Place order” button at the bottom of the screen.

iFood accepts several payment methods online: credit card, debit card, meal vouchers, food vouchers for markets, corporate payment and other vouchers (and you have the option of adding balance to your wallet by purchasing the iFood Card). 

You also have the option to pay on delivery with cash or card. Choose your payment method and that's it! Then, just click the “Confirm and place order” button. Enjoy!
