Potência Tech and EF English Live offer 50 scholarships for low-income, black, indigenous, Asian, people with disabilities, women and LBGTQIA+ people
O Tech Power, an iFood platform that supports the training and employability of professionals in the technology field, will offer 50 full scholarships for the school's English courses EF Education First. They will be aimed at low-income people and those with underrepresented profiles in the technology area, such as women and people of color.
Registration to compete for these scholarships is open until May 29, 2022 and can be done at Potência Tech website. The course is online, lasts six months and its materials are available to 100% students at any time.
The vacancies will be aimed at people over 18 years of age and people who are underrepresented in the technology field — such as women (cisgender and transgender), black people (black and brown), indigenous people and people of Asian origin, with disabilities or LGBTQIA+ — and or who have family income per capita monthly up to R$ 2,000. Per capita family income is the sum of the income of all residents of a household, then divided by the number of people living on that amount.
The selection process will have four stages:
1 – Registration on the website and joining the Potência Tech community on the Discord app, with a personal presentation;
2 – Complete one of Potência Tech’s technology courses lasting eight to ten hours and send the certificate of completion;
3 – Complete one of the GZero school’s creativity courses available at Potência Tech, lasting between two and three hours, and send the certificate of completion;
4 – Take the EF Education First English placement test available on the Potência Tech platform, lasting fifty minutes, and send a printout of the result (in addition to answering the question: “Why is English important for my career in technology? ”).
Since its creation in 2021, Potência Tech has awarded more than 4,000 scholarships in the technology area and resulted in the hiring of 380 people.
