With support from iFood, Good Game WP will have a grand finale in November

Good Game WP is now open, an unprecedented e-games circuit that runs until November.

The qualifying stages of Good Game WP are already underway, an unprecedented e-sports circuit that runs until November. The project, which promises to bring together famous pro-players and amateur players, was designed by Ambev, in partnership with iFood and Nubank.

The circuit has four modalities, with team competition: League of Legends, Counter Strike Global Offensive, Valorant and Free Fire. “This democratization – which allows both professionals and amateurs to participate – is a unique chance for players to show their talent, in addition to receiving a cash prize”, commented Lucas Catharino, experience marketing manager at Ambev and creator of the project. The winners of each modality will receive R$50 thousand, R$45 thousand in cash and R$5 thousand in credits for orders via the iFood app.

“With Good Game WP, iFood enters the world of games and their players. We are already a lovebrand in the gaming universe and we want to offer new experiences with our brand. We are excited about the championship and following the stages and participants”, said João Clark, marketing director at iFood.

According to the Game Brasil 2021 survey, carried out by Sioux Group, Go Gamers, Blend New Research and ESPM, 93% of the gamer audience has iFood as the best-known food delivery brand.

How does GGWP work?

Teams will participate in the online qualifying stages, in single matches during the month of October. In the last online stage, qualified teams and guest teams from the championship will face each other in best-of-3 matches. The final will be in person, broadcast in a large live broadcast on November 21, also in best-of-three matches.

Next year, Good Game WP will have in-person experiences. Three major gaming events are planned in São Paulo, Recife and Porto Alegre.

Game consumption

On the global stage, data from Statista (specialized in the games sector) estimate that, by 2025, the market should reach the value of US$ 207.6 billion.

Here, the number of fans attending games is also growing exponentially. In 2020, a Visa study showed that the number of transactions on the main gaming platforms and consoles grew by 140% compared to the previous year.

It is not surprising, therefore, that 72% of Brazilians have electronic games as part of their daily lives, as revealed by the Game Brasil 2021 Survey. It also shows that the majority of respondents (40.8%) use mobile devices to play . Another 15.8% opt for video game consoles; 19.5% for computers; 7.7%, for portable devices, such as Nintendo Switch, Vita and DS; and 12%, for other devices, such as Smart TV and Google Stadia.
