iFood expands support to Petrópolis with help for restaurants, delivery people and more donations to the region

In one week, more than R$650 thousand has already been raised by the platform together with Ação Cidadania and, from this week onwards, food will also be distributed with the NGOs Orgânico Solidário and Gastromotiva

In addition to supporting victims, the company extends help to partners through assistance measures, such as advance payments, compensation of gains and distribution of basic food baskets.

After a campaign started with the NGO Ação da Cidadania to help the impacted population in Petrópolis, this week iFood begins a partnership with the NGOs Orgânico Solidário and Gastromotiva. Foodtech has so far helped to raise around R$ 650,000 which will be used to provide more than 130 tonnes of food to people in vulnerable situations. In addition to raising financial resources, the company also initiates several actions to support partner restaurants and delivery drivers in the city of Petrópolis (RJ).

In solidarity with more than 700 partner restaurants in the region, iFood is taking assistance measures. The company will advance transfers and exclude commissions on sales within the partner restaurant platform that occurred between February 1st and 20th. To ensure the evaluation of establishments in the face of an extreme scenario, iFood will still disregard negative evaluations on deliveries from February 15th.

Support for delivery people

Delivery drivers whose main delivery location is the city of Petrópolis (RJ) will also receive support from iFood in the face of this moment of social emergency. The company will support the earnings of these delivery people for two weeks and distribute 470 basic food baskets.
Support will be based on the average amount transferred by the platform in the last 6 weeks, with a minimum amount to be received of R$ 50 per week of support. The distribution of the baskets will be made by prior appointment with iFood to the delivery person.

iFood and Citizenship Action

iFood and Ação da Cidadania came together to encourage donations with the aim of helping the emergency situation that occurs due to the heavy rains that hit the region of the city of Petrópolis (RJ). Since February 16, the campaign directs donations received by the organization to support people affected by the situation until it persists.

How to donate

The platform has a space in its application to encourage donations in a simple and reliable way. In the cart, before completing the order, with one click in the app, the customer can contribute to partner NGOs, with donations starting at R$2. This initiative seeks to provide partner non-governmental organizations with better fundraising potential. The causes supported by the donation campaigns are related to food security, education and the environment. The other way to donate through the iFood app is through the “Customer Profile”, in the “Donations” section, where it is possible to choose one of the entities to support with the amount the customer wants.
