iFood brings outdoor entertainment to Cariocas: Ferris Wheel and Cinema are the big attractions

The action is part of a series of experiences for Rio de Janeiro residents, which include free cinema and discounts for iFood customers

São Paulo, November 12, 2021 – iFood, the leading foodtech in Latin America, brings a month of experiences to Rio de Janeiro – RJ for residents and visitors of the wonderful city. In November, Rio de Janeiro residents will be able to visit the Brasileiro Ama Cinema initiative, an open-air cinema on the Rio de Janeiro waterfront, during the 13th, 14th and 15th of November. The company will also set up the iFood Ferris Wheel that will operate from November 13th until the last day of 2021.

The open-air cinema is an action carried out in partnership with Globoplay, Globo Filmes and Orla Rio that will present the most beloved national films in Brazilian cinema, such as Minha Mãe é uma Peça, Simonal and Que Horas Ela Volta?. Entry is free and tickets that guarantee seats can be reserved in advance via Sympla. Each session will have a capacity of up to 50 people. The action is part of a series of iFood initiatives, to give a new meaning to the ways of consuming delivery, whether at home, on the coast, on the beach and even at a picnic.

Through a QR CODE positioned on the support tables, viewers will be able to taste much more than the famous cinema popcorn. iFood will make it possible to receive orders at the kiosk in front of the activation, the Atlântico Beach Lounge, combining the “seventh art” with a complete gastronomic experience. During the sessions, the public will also have a special menu that refers to the films that will be shown. “The gastronomy present on Rio’s waterfront is very rich and diverse. We want consumers to take advantage of the resumption of activities to enjoy the best of each place and to this end, iFood will provide all the necessary support”, comments João Clark, marketing director at iFood.

Rio will also host the iFood Ferris Wheel, which arrives to promote a fun experience, to enjoy the view of Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas. The attraction will also have a Picnic area, gastronomic space and a stage for presentations and dynamics. In December, there will be Christmas programming.

The iFood Ferris Wheel is 20 meters high and has 16 cabins (which accommodate four people) and the ticket to participate in the attraction costs R$ 30.00 per cabin, which can be purchased via Sympla online or in person (through QR Codes or at the ticket office), both with scheduled times to avoid queues and crowds. The total duration of the Ferris wheel ride is 10 minutes.

The events will have all protocols against Covid-19, such as cleaning of places after each session, mandatory use of masks on site, alcohol gel at the entrance to the space, among other health precautions.
