More than 41 million pizzas were ordered through the company's app in the first half of 2022.; pepperoni appears as Brazilians' favorite flavor
São Paulo, July 2022 – To celebrate World Pizza Day, celebrated on July 10, iFood carried out a survey that shows the consumption habits of Brazilians on the app. In the first half of 2022, five pizza orders were placed every second. In total, more than 41 million pizzas were purchased by customers across Brazil. Among the flavors, pepperoni leads consumer preference, followed by chicken with creamy cheese, mozzarella, margherita and Portuguese.
Considered one of the favorite foods in national delivery, the dish registered a growth of 5% in the total number of orders in the last half of 2022, compared to the previous period. The times and days of greatest consumption are on weekends at dinner and also during the early hours of the morning.
The states in which the most consumers ordered pizza on the app are São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Paraná and Ceará, respectively. Currently, among the registered restaurants, 79% of them are small and medium-sized establishments (SMEs)
