iFood takes entrepreneurs from Believe to ExpoFavela

Chefs came from Salvador to share their experience at the event, dedicated to celebrating entrepreneurship in favelas

This weekend, iFood was present in another edition of ExpoFavela, a business fair dedicated to showcasing the work of entrepreneurs and startups from the favela.

The event was held between the 1st and 3rd of December, in São Paulo, and iFood brought to its stand some entrepreneurs who are part of the iFood Believes

O iFood Believe is a program launched in June 2023 to encourage the growth of black entrepreneurs' businesses by giving them more visibility on the app, as well as offering resources such as performance consultancy, management and operation training and credit.

“Two of the best entrepreneurs in Salvador were with us, serving their delicacies and talking about the experience of having been promoted by us”, comments Angel Vasconcelos, equity director at iFood.

“For us, the big transformation is using the strength of our ecosystem. There would be no more incredible way to carry out this celebration than to bring entrepreneurs who participate in the program in Salvador to open doors for iFood Crédito in São Paulo”, he adds.

Those who stopped by the iFood stand were also able to taste some of the specialties of the Bahian chefs who are part of iFood Crédito. “We also had a small iFood Crédito food court with entrepreneurs from the Heliópolis favela who were invited by us”, says Danielle Sá, social and environmental responsibility coordinator at iFood.

iFood also participated in the opening of the event, which included representatives from CUFA, other brands, public authorities and Danielle, who also spoke on the podcast installed at the venue, as well as some of Salvador's chefs.
