iFood invests in new computing research hub at Unicamp

iFood is investing in the construction of a new computing hub at Unicamp. Find out more about this new development that encourages research into innovation.

Partnership seeks to foster innovation and development of cutting-edge technology in the country


In line with your goals impact education in technology, iFood will invest in the construction of the Integrated Computing Research Hub (or CSHub) at Unicamp (State University of Campinas). The new structure will be a three-story building located in the university's Computing Institute and is scheduled for delivery in March 2023.

CSHub will offer structure and support so that students, teachers and the public can apply academic knowledge in practice and develop research and projects with an eye on new technologies to bring high-level innovative discoveries to the market.

With this partnership, iFood seeks foster innovation ecosystems technology, entrepreneurship and sustainability in the country and have an active role in research activities by providing the necessary conditions for their development at different levels —technical, undergraduate and postgraduate.

“We are very happy with iFood’s participation in the partnership to build CSHub, whose objective is to promote basic and applied science, disruptive innovation and technology transfer to different areas of knowledge in Brazil and abroad”, says Anderson Rocha, director of the Unicamp Computing Institute.

He explains that the new hub will house long-term projects that aim to tackle complex problems and expand interaction between the university and the company so that they act collaboratively in the development of new technologies, fostering innovation and benefiting society.

“iFood’s entry into this partnership is fundamental to its success and to making our concept of research and disruptive innovation a reality, creating an environment conducive to promoting cutting-edge scientific and technological research”, states the director.

“As iFood and Movile have an entire history linked to the Unicamp Computing Institute, we are very pleased to count on the company at this unique and watershed moment for our Institute”, he adds, remembering that Fabricio Bloisi, CEO of iFood and Founder of Movile, he graduated in Computer Science from Unicamp and took his first steps there as an entrepreneur in the technology area.

For iFood, this partnership builds a bridge between the company and the university's students and teachers. In the future, the foodtech You can promote, at CSHub, events such as recruitment fairs, hackathons and computing workshops, for example. The offer of summer internships and scholarships can also be a result of this partnership, among other actions that bring together technology, diversity and sustainability.
