iFood invests in training people to teach technology

In partnership with Resilia, the initiative will train teachers and professionals from any area to be learning facilitators

There is a lot of talk today about the threat of a technological blackout due to the lack of technology professionals to fill open positions in the market. This happens, in large part, because there is a substantial difference between the number of people trained in technology courses (53 thousand per year) and the demand for professionals in the market (159 thousand per year), according to the latest survey carried out by Brasscom (Association of Information and Communication Technology and Digital Technologies Companies), at the end of 2021.

A little debated aspect of this issue is that there is also a lack of qualified professionals to train more people in technology. The shortage of teachers in this market is also a barrier to the objective of increasing the number of qualified people to fill these vacancies in the technology area.

In search of solutions to this problem, iFood launches, in partnership with the technology training school Resilia, an initiative to train facilitators and teachers in the area of technology and soft skills (personal skills, such as communication and leadership skills).

Until April 20, 2022, registrations are open for the training of future facilitators in these two areas. There is no need to have prior knowledge of the topic: to sign up, you just need to have a desire to learn, teach and generate a positive impact on society. And anyone who already works in education or technology can also participate — just sign up in the website.

What is the course like?

The course, called Resilia Facilitation School, will be free training, lasting 60 hours, including recorded classes and in-person meetings. Participants will be able to choose between two training paths: learning to be a facilitator or a facilitator of hard skills or of soft skills.

The trail of hard skills is focused on teaching technology, and soft skills will address socio-emotional and behavioral skills. In both cases, participants will take classes on topics such as adult learning, facilitation, lifelong learning and how to lead a group and apply the Resilia learning journey.

The first phase of the course will be held between May 2nd and 20th, with recorded classes and two live meetings. After that, there will be a selection of the 50 best students to work facilitating a class at Resilia in phase 2, which runs from May 23rd to June 10th.

In this case, facilitators will be selected who demonstrate commitment to its development and who have learned in community with the other participants. At the end, all participants will receive a certificate, both upon completing the first and second phases.
