iFood receives innovative company seal from MIT Technology Review

Award evaluates companies' ability to create structured innovation processes that create value for business

On Thursday (30/6), iFood received the Innovative Workplaces seal from MIT Technology Review, which recognizes the innovation capacity of companies by evaluating their actions in management, products and services, marketing and processes and their efficiency in moving beyond ideas to create value for the business and positively impact your ecosystem.

This is the first time that iFood participates in this evaluation, which shows the companies that stand out the most in fields such as open innovation and taking data-based decision. The winners received the seal during a ceremony held by MIT Technology Review, and their cases will be published in the July/2022 edition of the magazine.

Companies certified with this MIT Technology Review seal meet criteria such as knowing how to make the results of innovation actions tangible, identifying gaps in this area and comparing their results with the competition.

In addition to receiving the seal, iFood and the other companies covered also had access to innovation reports, maturity in open innovation, corporate culture and data-based decision making.

“Innovation is not about having a great idea”

With this initiative, MIT seeks to identify in the winning companies the same values that have driven the organization for more than 150 years and made it the protagonist of many of the innovations that shaped the world in which we live.

“The innovation process is no longer an option and needs to become something that is done daily by multiple sectors of the company”, says the executive editor of MIT Technology Brasil, Rafael Coimbra. “Innovation is not simply having a brilliant idea, it is transforming something that will change a company process, a way of managing, the creation of a product or service. This requires a methodology.”

To receive the seal, iFood was evaluated through questionnaires with questions about each category, which are answered by employees selected by MIT (in general, 1 to 3 employees). After that, the award organization carries out a second round of analysis of the companies; Those who reach the minimum score or more receive the seal and are awarded in a ceremony.
