Entrepreneurs and startups that are born from Brazilian favelas will share their initiatives and fuel debates between the 17th and 19th of March at Expo Favela, held in São Paulo.
iFood is one of the event's main sponsors, and will participate speaking about the importance of combining education and technology and presenting its initiatives in this area. During Expo Favela, the company will also announce the launch of the offer of 5,000 scholarships for the boot camp Partner Front End Developer DIO.

In addition, some company executives will talk to the public about the topic throughout the weekend. On Saturday (18), vice-president Luana Ozemela, participates, from 2:50 pm to 4 pm, in a debate on entrepreneurship. On Sunday (19), Gustavo Vitti, vice-president of People and Sustainable Solutions at iFood, will participate in the debate “Education of resistance”, from 2:50 pm to 4 pm.
Participating in this discussion will be Pedro Augusto Cazé, executive president of Brasil Júnior; José Vicente, president of the Board of Directors of the Business Initiative for Racial Equality; Ana Carolina Almeida, director of entrepreneurship and leader of the Pra>frente Movement, at Fundação Dom Cabral; and Anna Karla da Silva Pereira, co-founder of Frente Favela Brasil.
iFood shows education actions at Expo Favela
Also on Sunday, at 2pm, Luanna Luna, head of education at iFood, participates in the Potência Tech panel, on training and employability in technology, alongside Cynthia Zanoni, from WoMakers Code, and Cleber Guedes, from Programadores do Ajante.
Kelly Baptista, executive director of 1Bi Foundation, iFood's partner NGO in education, gave a presentation on technology, social impact and future trends on the first day of the event (17).
Expo Favela brings together lectures, workshops, exhibitions, business rounds, startup pitches, mentoring, debates and courses, as well as shows, films and parades, among other initiatives by favela residents across the country.
And those who went to the event were able to learn a little more about iFood's actions in education, such as the Tech Power, O My High School Diploma and the Takes off.
These initiatives were presented at the company's stand, where visitors were also able to record, in writing, what their dreams are — see the photos in the gallery below.
