iFood does not tolerate violence against delivery people

Note of clarification from the company regarding the aggression suffered by delivery man Nilton Ramon de Oliveira in Rio de Janeiro

iFood does not tolerate any type of violence against delivery partners. We are very sorry about what happened to Nilton Ramon de Oliveira and we are in contact with the family, who is already receiving legal support, through a lawyer from Black Sisters in Law, which will follow up on the entire legal process of the case. The customer's account in question has been banned from the platform.

iFood clarifies that the The delivery person's obligation is to leave the order at the first point of contact, be it the house gate or the building entrance. This is the recommendation given to delivery drivers and consumers.

Since 2023, the company has been carrying out a series of initiatives in partnership with Secovi Rio (Housing Union of Rio de Janeiro), to raise awareness among residents and train doormen and condominium managers in the city.

Furthermore, it expanded the reception provided by the Legal and Psychological Support Center in the city of Rio de Janeiro, with the possibility of in-person assistance at the headquarters building of the Black Sisters in Law (BSL) —a collective of black lawyers— which provides assistance to professionals who are victims of any type of violence.

We recently launched a Policy to Combat Discrimination and Violence which provides for conduct that is not accepted, penalties for aggressors and forms of protection for victims. We hope that the case does not go unpunished and that Nilton recovers.
