3 reasons to pay for orders directly in the iFood app

Registering your card to make payment on the platform is a safe, practical option that can yield exclusive discounts.

When placing an order on iFood, there are people who are in doubt about whether it is better to do so. payment in the app or upon delivery. Registering your card on the platform and using it for purchases has some advantages — below, we explain what they are.

It's a safe environment

Many people worry about data privacy when shopping online. The application is a secure environment because the iFood does not store or access sensitive customer card data. The information is processed in a “tokenized” way so that people's payment data is protected and treated securely, in line with the General Data Protection Law (LGPD).

It works like this: the card data you enter in the app is sent to a platform that “tokenizes” the information, that is, transforms it into a sequence of numbers protected by cryptography. This anonymized data is sent to the iFood server whenever you pay.

This platform, called TSP (Token Service Provider), is reliable: iFood is certified PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard), so it only works with companies certified to “tokenize” cards. This means they meet requirements such as protecting card and cardholder data and using a firewall efficient, as well as antivirus, antispyware and antimalware protection software.

Faster refund

Those who pay through the app also have an easier time asking iFood for support if something goes wrong with the order. If a problem occurs, the refund, for example, will be faster, as in this case it will not be necessary to contact the restaurant where the order was placed.

Biggest discount offer

Another positive point is that customers who pay in the app have access to exclusive benefits, such as iFood Club (which allows you to buy coupons at lower prices), and discount coupons, which can only be used in this form of payment.
