São Paulo, November 16, 2021 – iFood announces that, from November, the period of validity of the temporary fuel fund will begin. In total, R$8 million will be invested, with R$4 million in November and R$4 million in December 2021. iFood is the only company to create an initiative to reduce the impacts generated by high fuel prices on delivery drivers, as a reflection of the company's concern and listening with your partners. In partnership with Raízen, licensee of the Shell brand, the amount will be made available to those operating in the motorcycle and car sectors through Shell Box, the Shell brand payment application.

“We understand that this is a moment that requires commitment and attitude from companies, and this announcement adds to so many other initiatives that iFood has been promoting for its partners – in health, education and improvements in day-to-day logistics processes. Delivery people are an essential part of the iFood ecosystem and that is why we are always paying attention and listening to workers, looking for solutions”, highlights Claudia Storch, Logistics Director at iFood.

How will the Fund transfer work?

The first installment of the amounts will be passed on to delivery drivers on November 24th, based on the routes taken in the previous 30 days – 10/23 to 11/21. On December 24th, credit will be available for the period from 11/22 to 12/21. Monthly payments have a minimum value of R$5 and can reach R$80 for motorcycles, and for cars, they range from R$10 to R$150. The value may vary according to the number of routes completed in the period, thus respecting the different profiles of delivery people who use the platform.

To start receiving funds from the fund, the partner must access the iFood app for delivery drivers from November onwards, open the Advantages Delivery, a partnership and benefits program, and access the “Parts and Maintenance” category, in which the Fuel Fund Regulation. To participate in the action, you will need to accept the terms of the Regulation by actively ticking the check box available at the end of the Regulation, agreeing to your participation. Next, the delivery person must download the Shell Box application on their cell phone and register on the platform. The balance will be visible in 'your credits' under the name 'iFood Fuel Fund'.

When refueling at Shell stations, the delivery partner must inform the attendant that payment will be made using the Shell Box app. After logging into the app, you must click on the 'Enter to pay' button, enter the six-digit code indicated on the pump and authorize refueling. At the end, simply choose the payment option and use the balance available in your wallet in 'your credits'. The unused balance is available for other times, valid for up to 90 days.

Using the Shell Box app, it is possible to view the coverage of the gas station network that accepts the digital wallet, as well as credit history and the possibility of adding other payment methods. Throughout Brazil, there are more than 4,000 stations and more than 500 Shell Select convenience stores enabled to receive payments with Shell Box. In places where there is no coverage by Shell stations, the delivery person will receive, via transfer, the credit.

Delivery of Advantages

In search of alternatives to help delivery people reduce costs, iFood created the Delivery de Vantagens program more than a year ago. Through it, all couriers have access to a package of benefits including special discounts on insurance and motorcycle maintenance services (oil and tire changes and parts for mechanical repairs), purchases in multi-brand stores and discounts on education, in addition to medical and dental care at subsidized prices. Among the program's partner brands are Suhai, Allianz Assistance, Valvoline, Samumotos, RClub, Saúde com Avus, WDental, LG, Magalu and FAM.
