Foodtech is listed in Fast Company magazine's ranking, which highlights environmental and restaurant support initiatives

iFood entered the ranking of the ten most innovative companies in Latin America, prepared annually by Fast Company magazine, which is a reference in the world of creative business, especially in the technology area.

When talking about foodtech in the March 2022 edition, the publication highlights the presence of iFood in 1,250 cities and praises the initiative to launch in 2021, in partnership with Movile and Zoop, the largest restaurant bank in the world, to serve 236,000 partner establishments offering digital bank accounts without charging monthly fees or transaction fees — in addition to the other financial services offered in the application.

Furthermore, Fast Company also highlighted the efforts and iFood's commitment to becoming a carbon neutral and plastic-free company until 2025. In 2021 alone, iFood carried out more than 100 million deliveries without plastic items.

“We were born as a delivery company, but the challenges of each moment, such as the pandemic, lead us to new paths. We are always thinking about the future, about what will completely change the market. And we know that we can still do a lot for Brazilian consumers and entrepreneurs”, comments Bruno Henriques, vice president of growth at iFood.

In 2020, iFood had already been the subject of a report of the magazine that highlighted the investment in electric bicycles as an original solution for reduce the environmental impact of delivery.

In the 2022 ranking, the magazine states that companies from Brazil and Mexico, the two largest economies in Latin America, are well represented on the list of the most innovative in the region — and that they are joined by new businesses created in emerging hubs, such as from Buenos Aires (Argentina), Montevideo (Uruguay) and Lima (Peru).

Food delivery is highlighted in the report as one of the activities that grew during the Covid-19 pandemic, and that the most successful companies in the sector have been those that have found innovative ways to reward their partners and benefit local communities.
