São Paulo, December 11, 2021: Anyone who visits Ibirapuera Park this weekend and next will be enchanted by the drone show. Sponsored by iFood, a leading foodtech in Latin America, the show is part of the “Christmas in the Park: the festival of nature” project, created by Innova AATB for Urbia, the company responsible for managing the site.
During the nights of December 11th and 12th, 18th and 19th, visitors will be able to watch a show of 100 drones, which will deliver Christmas wishes to visitors such as peace, happiness and love, through beautiful images that will form in the sky.
“Christmas in the Park: the festival of nature” has environmental conservation as its central theme and is part of the strategy to increase visitors’ knowledge of the topic. In 2021, the initiative will have as its central characters the animals, insects and flowers found in Ibirapuera.
Innovations: drones in delivery
iFood was the first company to obtain regulatory approval to test drone food delivery routes in Latin America.
In August 2020, the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) authorized iFood to operate two drone delivery routes in Campinas, one of the largest cities in the state of São Paulo. In partnership with Speedbird Aero, the drone covered the route in two minutes, saving eight minutes of the time expected for ground transport.
In the first half of 2021, the company completed a second test operation also in Campinas, with more than 300 deliveries and the participation of 20 partner restaurants. Now iFood is prospecting other areas.
In this way, the brand is on its way to establishing itself as the first foodtech in the Americas to speed up food delivery time using drones, with government approval.
