iFood expands actions for establishments affected by the rains in RS

New measures, which total more than R$ 10 million, include free monthly fees and advance transfer until October for restaurants, markets, convenience stores, pet shops and pharmacies

São Paulo, May 2024 – iFood, Brazilian technology company, will increase support for partner establishments affected by the rains in Rio Grande do Sul. The new actions include free monthly fees and advance transfers until October for restaurants, markets, convenience stores, pet shops and pharmacies.

The company had already announced the anticipation of the transfer in May, with coverage of all costs of this operation and, now, this measure will be extended. For stores that already have 7 or 1 day transfer plans, iFood will refund the fee.

In addition, the company will also eliminate monthly fees for establishments until October. These two initiatives total R$ 10 million. The operation was also adjusted to prioritize serving stores in Rio Grande do Sul at this time. The measures are in addition to initiatives already in place that aim to help partner establishments, delivery people and the region's population.

For delivery drivers in the state, iFood made an emergency transfer totaling R$ 2 million, with the aim of offering financial support during this critical period. In this case, the value was calculated based on the delivery person's average earnings in the last month, with a minimum payment of R$ 100. To access the benefit, the professional had to have made at least one delivery per week in the last four weeks.

iFood is also working together with the Professional Motorcyclists Union of Porto Alegre (SINDIMOTO) to offer donations of food, hygiene kits and basic necessities.

In addition, the company has a donation campaign in the app for Rio Grande do Sul. As of May 14, more than R$ 1.3 million had been raised. This money was transferred to CUFA to distribute food, water and other essential items. Through the app it is also possible to donate to other partner NGOs that are operating in RS: Voz das Comunidades and Ação da Cidadania.

To contribute, simply click on the “SOS Rio Grande do Sul” banner, which is highlighted in the app. It is also possible to donate by accessing “Profile”, in the bottom right corner of the screen, going to “Donations” and “I want to donate”. Then, you need to choose the amount, the payment method and click on the “Send Donation” button. Another option is to donate when completing an order.
