Position on crimes committed by people using iFood bags

iFood understands that it is important to join forces and is always available to collaborate with public security authorities. The company has also advanced in the active listening process through approaches with neighborhood associations. To register on the platform, you must be over 18 years old and include the requested data and documents, which vary according to the delivery vehicle chosen: motorcycle, bicycle or car. All data and documents are verified – including the use of OCR technology that allows you to check whether the person in the photo is the same person in the document presented. We also have a facial recognition tool that is activated periodically as a security measure to prevent account renting and borrowing. If it is confirmed that the delivery person's registration is being used to carry out illegal activities or in violation of the Platform's Terms of Use, the appropriate measures will be taken immediately.

It is important to highlight that, despite the need for a bag to make deliveries with the app, there is no requirement to use a bag with the logo. Therefore, the fact that a person is using a bag with the iFood brand does not mean that they are making a delivery through the platform or even that they are registered with it. iFood also maintains a team dedicated to investigating and preventing fraud, aiming to minimize and combat preventively prevent any type of scam and other illicit activities. Reports received contribute to prevention work, which involves the use of data to predict this type of criminal behavior and promote actions to avoid it whenever possible. Whenever relevant, iFood forwards complaints for investigation by the competent authorities, as well as cooperating whenever requested.
