Training is an ally of safer traffic

What do you do to contribute to safer traffic? iFood gives you some tips.

National Traffic Day, celebrated on September 25th, was created in 1997 together with the Brazilian Traffic Code. The date aims to raise awareness among the population about the importance of adopting measures to make traffic safer and, consequently, reduce the number of accidents.

The date is also part of National Traffic Week, celebrated annually between the 18th and 25th of September. And when it comes to traffic liability, the iFood is also watching.

Therefore, throughout the year, foodtech promotes a series of initiatives in this regard. Therefore, check out some information below.

iFood actions in favor of traffic in cities

Helmet Angels

The project that trains volunteer delivery drivers to provide first aid and contribute to traffic safety. The initiative, which has already trained around 200 professionals who deliver by motorbike or bike in the cities of São Paulo, Recife, Belo Horizonte and Maceió, works in addition to the safety educational activities that are available to all active couriers on the platform from iFood.

Therefore, in partnership with SESI-SP, iFood offers a free online training course for delivery drivers registered on the platform. The material, in an agile and interactive format, is available on the iFood app for Deliverers.

The learning paths will be divided into four modules: Traffic Responsibility and Work Equipment, Society and Personal Development.

In addition, two other modules focus specifically on the role of delivery drivers, with content on defensive driving, first aid and motorcycle maintenance.

Responsive Pedal
Aimed at delivery people who use the company's electric bicycles. iFood Pedal, Pedal Responsa is a digital course that covers content on traffic safety, care and responsibilities with electric bikes, health, Covid-19 prevention and communication with the customer. Therefore, the training was developed in partnership with the Aromeiazero Institute.

Thus, upon completing the entire Pedal Responsa trail, the delivery person receives a certificate and evaluates the usefulness and relevance of the course for their daily life in food delivery. Currently the pass rate is 97%.
