FAQ: Everything about My High School Diploma

What is My High School Diploma?

It is one of iFood's programs aimed at supporting education journey for delivery men and women.

One of the stages of this journey is completing high school. To make this happen, iFood provides scholarships for delivery drivers to take a preparatory course for the Encceja (National Examination for the Certification of Skills of Young People and Adults), the test that gives the certificate of completion of secondary education.

Why does iFood offer this program?

According to a survey carried out by the company, 28% of the delivery men and women registered on the platform did not finish high school — and the majority expressed the desire to graduate. That's why the company structured the program.

In Brazil, more than half of people over 25 have not completed high school, according to data from the Pnad (National Household Sample Survey).

What is the course like? And the proof?

The preparatory course for Encceja is carried out in partnership with Descomplica and Termine seu Estudos, specialists in online education.

The course is completely online, and the recommended study time is at least two and a half hours per day, over three months.

The Encceja final exam is carried out in person, and passing the exam guarantees the issuance of a certificate of completion (or diploma) for Elementary or Secondary Education.

Who can participate in My High School Diploma?

All delivery men and women registered on the iFood platform and who are 18 years old or over (the age group allowed to work on the platform).

What were the results of the program?

In the first edition of My High School Diploma, 5,314 delivery men and women signed up to win a scholarship and prepare for Encceja.

Of this total, 950 passed the test and completed high school. In January 2023, iFood held a graduation event for these delivery men and women. Those who were unable to attend had the opportunity to watch the ceremony online, via live broadcast.

To continue the delivery drivers' learning journey, iFood entered into a partnership with Faculdade das Américas (FAM) to offer full scholarships to 380 delivery drivers, of which 107 enrolled at the institution.

What will my 2023 High School Diploma be like?

The program is open for registration for the second class and will cover all delivery men and women who are interested in receiving the scholarship and taking the course to take the Encceja. There are already more than 18 thousand people interested.

Delivery drivers who did not pass the 2022 exam or who registered and were unable to attend will have guaranteed scholarships to study in the 2023 edition.

Why is delivery driver education important for iFood?

“For us here at iFood, education is the key to success and the future of Brazil”, said the company's CEO, Fabricio Bloisi, in a video presented during the graduation of the first class of My High School Diploma.

“Being able to invest and help our partners to become more educated and grow personally and professionally is very rewarding”, he added.

iFood has publicly committed to some goals in education until 2025. Among them, encouraging basic education, impacting 5 million people.
