iFood launches electric motorcycle for delivery people

Find out everything about the new electric motorcycle, which starts to be sold to delivery partners

iFood is starting sales of EVS Work iFood, the first electric motorcycle created to measure, in partnership with Voltz, for the work of delivery partners. “We want to show that it is now a reality to travel within urban centers with vehicles that generate low impact on the environment”, highlights André Borges, head iFood's sustainability plan.

Furthermore, this initiative is part of the iFood's goal of reaching 2025 by making 50% of its deliveries with non-polluting vehicles. “It’s a win-win for the delivery person, for the environment and society as a whole”, says André.

Therefore, the new electric motorcycle developed by Voltz begins to be sold to delivery partners for R$ 9,999.90. To make it accessible, iFood partnered with BV bank to offer a financing line with different conditions: a subsidy of R$ 2,000 for the first 300 units that are financed – upon credit and user approval.

Thus, after completing the testing phase, carried out with 30 couriers, the electric motorcycle pilot project is being implemented first in São Paulo, but should reach other cities by the end of the year.

The motorcycle can be recharged at any outlet, but delivery drivers will be able to take out a subscription plan that provides for free battery replacement at authorized points. However, at the beginning, there will be one hundred stations to carry out this operation in the capital of São Paulo, in neighborhoods such as Lapa, República, Pinheiros, Jardins, Moema and Itaim Bibi and on Avenida Paulista.
