iFood and Microsoft launch quick courses for digital inclusion

Discover the two free digital literacy tracks that will be available on WhatsApp

In partnership with Microsoft, iFood launches two quick digital literacy training trails for those who want to gain basic knowledge in this universe. There are two free courses, available on Tech Power, and which can be done via WhatsApp.

The first track is about how to use the computer on a daily basis. This introductory course proposes an immersion in the world of these machines to form a basis for digital learning. In addition to showing how computers work, it provides basic notions of navigating the internet.

The second track is for those who already have basic computer skills and want to learn more about text editing and spreadsheet editor applications, such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

The two courses are open to anyone from groups underrepresented in technology and interested in the topic and use an educational methodology based on microlearning, which transmits learning quickly and directly.

How to access content

This is another of the initiatives of the Tech Power, a platform developed by iFood and which offers free courses and scholarships in technology for underrepresented groups in this area, such as black, indigenous people, women, LGBTQIAP+ or people with disabilities.

Each digital literacy track has eight five-minute lessons each, which can be completed in up to six months. To access the content, interested parties will interact with an electronic assistant on WhatsApp after completing the website registration. The assistant will give commands for people to choose the appropriate options.

“Relying on iFood to promote digital literacy enhances the work we do to take training across the country and reach populations from underrepresented groups or those in vulnerable situations, our main objective with the initiative” highlights Lucia Rodrigues, philanthropy leader at Microsoft Brazil.
