iFood repeats Christmas partnership to combat hunger

For the second year in a row, the company joins forces with Coca-Cola and Ação da Cidadania to double donations for this campaign.

iFood, Coca-Cola and the largest NGO in combat to hunger in Brazil, Citizenship Action, announce for the second consecutive year an alliance to promote increased donations to the campaign Christmas Without Hunger, created by Herbert de Souza, known as Betinho, who has been distributing food to people in socially vulnerable situations for 30 years.

This is an action that aims to boost the culture of donation in the country. Donations can be made until December 25th on the iFood app or on Christmas Without Hunger campaign website

The amount donated by people to the Christmas Without Hunger campaign will be doubled by partner companies

Together, the companies will double the amount raised. The expectation is that the equivalent of 4 million meals will be donated this year alone, impacting approximately 80 thousand families.

“At iFood, we have the purpose of feeding the future of the world. Each person's support is important for us to continue with our mission and increasingly contribute to ending hunger among people in socially vulnerable situations during such an emblematic time as Christmas. We are happy to make our platform available for such a relevant cause”, says Danielle Sá, socio-environmental responsibility coordinator at iFood. 

How can I donate to the campaign?

There are two ways to make a donation: 

In the iFood app

  • Open the iFood application;
  • Enter “Profile”, in the bottom right corner of the screen;
  • Scroll down until you reach “Donations”;
  • Click on the Christmas without Hunger campaign banner in the top corner of the screen or on the “Christmas Without Hunger” item below
  • Click on the “I want to donate” button
  • Choose the amount and payment method, click the “Send Donation” button and participate!

On the campaign website

  • Access the Natal Sem Fome website
  • Click on the “Donate Now” button
  • Choose the amount and payment method and click the “Donate” button

Social Caravan through Brazil

Inspired by the Coca-Cola Christmas Caravan, which travels through Brazil, the Coca-Cola System invites the public to join this solidarity movement, called the Social Caravan, which, through more than 40 partner institutions of Citizenship Action, they take basic food baskets to those in need throughout the country. 

In 2021 and 2022, the Social Caravan action donated more than 13 million meals, reaching 260 thousand families.

“It is possible to make a difference in the lives of those who have nothing. In each home where food arrives, a family gains another reason to smile and carry on. I would like this message to reach as many people as possible, so that our donations increase, because the number of hungry people has increased”, highlights Rodrigo “Kiko” Afonso, executive director of Ação da Cidadania.

To increase this solidarity network with a donation, consumers simply need to visit the website Christmas Without Hunger Citizenship Action or on the iFood app. On the platform, consumers can contribute in two ways: when completing their order, choosing suggested values or directly in the donations area, unrelated to any purchase.
