“Be a nonconformist. Doubt, question”

How to be well informed in the New Economy? Check out the tips from João Sabino, Director of Public Policies at iFood.

For João Sabino, Director of Public Policies at iFood, it is necessary to seek reliable information and be aware of changes in the New Economy

“For anyone who asks me about 'what to read' to be informed in the New Economy, my answer is the same: look for quality information”, says João Sabino, the Director of Public Policies at iFood, about the importance of being up to date with events in Brazil and around the world.

“Information is the raw material not only for public policies, but for the New Economy itself. Reading and consuming quality content is a skill that is gained over time. It’s a journey, of understanding good content, from recognized sources, and discarding those that are not useful”, he says. For João, exchanging with peers is also a way of finding reliable information channels.

“I believe the big tip is to be nonconformist with the information you receive. Doubt, question, look for more data, be curious. Don't accept things that come to you as absolute truths. This is the great difference of the New Economy. We are nonconformists, we do not accept the status quo.”

We took advantage of the conversation with João to ask for reading tips to be well informed. He recommended us two authors who inspire him in this context. Check out!

“I really like this author, from Silicon Valley. Your newsletter is quite interesting, with weekly content. Each year, he makes a grand presentation of the next year's trend. I strongly suggest following it.”

“This professor produces a lot of content about technology and, often, about public policies, innovation and regulation. I highly recommend it.”
