In a free course for delivery drivers and restaurants, he talks about how to make a career in gastronomy
There is no one better than a successful chef to teach you the secrets to making a career in the kitchen and running a restaurant. Therefore, iFood called on the chef, consultant and activist João Diamante to give a special course on the topic for delivery people and partner restaurants on the iFood Decola platform.
João has a rich entrepreneurial history until he created the traveling restaurant Na Minha Casa and be elected one of the outstanding young Brazilians on the list Forbes Under 30 in 2020. Born in Bahia, he went to live in a community in Rio de Janeiro, where as a boy he helped bake bread in a bakery.
After that, he was a chef's assistant in the Navy, took a gastronomy course offered by French chef Alain Ducasse at Estácio de Sá University and completed an internship in one of his restaurants, which is located at the top of the Eiffel Tower, in Paris (France).
Back in Brazil, João became chef at the Museum of Tomorrow restaurant and created the social project Diamantes na Cozinha, which uses gastronomy as a tool for social integration of people into society. “I have always been part of social projects within my community. I really believe in social projects as a way of transforming people’s lives”, he says on his website.
Now, João shares the knowledge he accumulated through these experiences in the courses offered at iFood Decola, bringing tips that will help beginners or those interested in entering and developing in the world of gastronomy.
In his online classes, he introduces himself, talks about the importance of economics and presents careers as a cook and chef. The delivery course is available here, and the one dedicated to restaurants can be accessed here.
