Discover all the education initiatives for iFood delivery people

In March 2021, iFood launched its commitments in the areas of Sustainability, Education and Social. Audacious goals were set to be achieved by 2025. As a result, in the same year, several initiatives came to fruition.

Education is one of the fronts of social impact, where iFood's commitments are: training and employing 25 thousand low-income people in technology, reducing the technological blackout in Brazil, training through technology more than 5 million people in 5 years to the work of the future and entrepreneurship and encourage education, impacting 5 million people, developing and promoting technology in basic education.

“iFood understands that the contribution of companies is necessary to help bring quality education to groups that have historically had fewer opportunities. Therefore, we are committed to investing in these three main fronts until 2025” – this is what Luanna Luna, Education Manager at iFood, says.

Education is the key to social transformation and progress in Brazil. ADVANTAGES DELIVERY

Delivery Advantages (DV) is a discount program made especially for iFood delivery partners and their families. In it, partners from several different segments offer advantages that extend beyond the delivery person. At DV it is possible to obtain discounts of up to 70% on purchases with partners in various segments, including: motorcycle insurance, maintenance, household appliances and electronics, clothing, and, of course, education.

FOUNDATION EDUCATION ON DV

One of the most recent partnerships, which began on December 21, 2021, was between iFood and Alicerce Educação. Alicerce works as a school to cover educational difficulties that the student has, whether as a child, functioning as a “full-time” with Portuguese, mathematics and English classes, for teenagers preparing for the university entrance exam or even for adults who wish to resume studies and prepare for the Youth and Adult Education (EJA) program – a teaching modality aimed at those who did not complete, abandoned or did not have access to formal education at the appropriate age.

In this case, the partnership includes a 1-week free trial and 40% discount on Alicerce Educação packages, which are adjusted according to the student's needs, also aligned with their life project, intended for delivery people and their dependents. These discounts are for both in-person (Alicerce is present in all states) and for Distance Learning (EaD).

AUDEN ON DV

Another new feature for 2022, also within the Delivery of Advantages, is the partnership with Auden University. Delivery drivers and their families (without family relationship restrictions) have 50% discounts on Auden's undergraduate and postgraduate courses. And the best thing is that all the courses offered are 100% online. Auden is a reference for having the highest score in EAD Institutional Concept (CI), an index created by the Ministry of Education (MEC) to evaluate the quality of online courses at Brazilian universities. From 1 to 5, Auden has the highest grade for course quality, 5.

New classes are opened monthly, always on the 1st. Those enrolled until the 9th can start studying in the current month. The student will be able to start the course on these new class dates immediately after payment of registration and proof of completion of high school, for those interested in an undergraduate degree at Auden, and proof of a bachelor's degree, degree or technologist, for those interested in postgraduate studies.

YOUNG APPRENTICE

In order to further expand the relationship with the delivery person, iFood takes another step in this direction and announces the hiring of 51 sons and daughters of delivery people on the platform through the national Jovem Aprendiz program. Since the beginning of February, iFood began announcing this opportunity to its delivery partners.

The 51 places are for young people aged 14 and 24 who may, therefore, be attending secondary or primary school. The opportunities are aimed at the areas of Finance, Legal, Commercial, Logistics and Innovation. The work experience will also include training and courses to complement the young people's skills, with a focus on the areas of administration and sales.
