iFood holds first regional meeting with delivery drivers in Recife

The event was attended by representatives of the platform and 15 delivery partners

Recife was chosen by iFood as the first city to host a regional meeting due to its long partnership with delivery drivers from the northeastern capital

iFood took another important step in its commitment to its relationship with delivery drivers: in the capital of Pernambuco, Recife, the first regional meeting took place between representatives of the platform and partner delivery drivers, called “Voz dos Entregadores: Escuta Recife”. The milestone comes just four months after the 1st Deliverers' Forum, a national event dedicated to listening and dialoguing with the platform's partners in order to further improve the relationship.

The regional meeting was held in April (13) and was attended by 15 delivery drivers. In total, more than 350 delivery drivers in the city showed interest in participating and the selection for the vacancies used criteria such as length of partnership with the platform, evaluation of deliveries and diversity – in order to guarantee a real and consistent experience of the partnership experience with the iFood. Among the fifteen, there were couriers of both types available on the platform: Logistics Operator (OL) and cloud.

The date

The meeting had several moments of exchange of ideas and considerations from all parties. And the material collected will be used by iFood to further improve the daily lives of its delivery partners.

“iFood follows its commitment to being the best partner for delivery people and the realization of 'Voz dos Entregadors: Escuta Recife' is very important, as it reflects our concern in listening to national demands while looking with care at the local reality of our partners. iFood chose Recife for its first listening meeting to recognize the good relationship we have with delivery partners in this area”, celebrates Alexandre Martinez, logistics manager at iFood and one of the five company representatives present.

Participants

The delivery girl, Ingrid da Silva, 24, an iFood partner for almost two years, was present and evaluates the first regional meeting: “I thought it was a well-organized event and I felt that we were all heard. Today, on this day, I felt valued by iFood”, comments the delivery woman who is in love with her “popzinha” motorbike.

In conversation with iFood News, delivery partner Altemar, 40, said he turned to the platform two years ago, when he most needed remuneration. “I had a small electronics street business and I always worked at parties as a DJ. With the pandemic and the impossibility of maintaining my only two activities, I resorted to delivery, which was something I had never done. Today, with the flexibility, I am returning to activities, but I don't intend to stop being a delivery person at iFood”, he reveals.

iFood in Recife

Currently, Recife is one of the largest and most important places in the northeast, and is part of iFood's major project plans. One of them arrived in the city just over a month ago: the iFood Pedal. The initiative, which was born through a partnership between iFood and urban mobility startup, Tembici, arrived in February to offer the possibility of renting conventional and electric bikes for anyone who meets the criteria to be an iFood delivery person using this mode. Another important project that arrived in Recife was Anjos de Capacete, a public-private initiative led by FoodTech and carried out in partnership with several city halls around the country to train delivery partners in first aid and road safety.
