iFood has the goal of eliminating plastic pollution and being carbon neutral by 2025 — check out some numbers that show the results that have already been achieved.

Do you know how many orders have been delivered without plastic cutlery and straws? We reveal here

When it comes to the environment, iFood Regenera has two important goals to comply by 2025. One is to eliminate plastic pollution in its delivery operations; the other is to become a carbon neutral company.

To get there, iFood invests in several actions, from the simplest — such as offering, on the app, the choice of do not receive cutlery and other plastic items with the request—even the most ambitious ones, like launching the Electric motorcycle It is bet on bicycles so that 50% of deliveries are made using non-polluting modes until 2025.

In partnership with the 160,000 restaurants that joined the Friends of Nature program to provide the option of eliminating the need to send cutlery, straws and napkins, iFood reached the milestone of 200 million orders sent without these single-use plastics.

This was the first phase of the #DPlastic-Free commitment, which iFood took over, in 2021, with the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and Oceana, an NGO dedicated to protecting the oceans. There is still more to come: in 2023 and 2024, the goal is to also reduce the use of bags and plastic condiment sachets in deliveries.
